Prohibited Items
Before loading your dumpster, please review our prohibited items and additional disposal fees guidelines. Certain materials cannot be accepted due to state and landfill regulations. Certain items can be accepted but incur an additional charge, which is ok. Whether you're renting a dumpster in Ashford, Andover, Union, East Granby, or anywhere across our North Central Connecticut service area, if you're unsure about any item, feel free to call us — we're happy to help ensure your project stays on track and compliant.
The following materials are not allowed in our dumpsters:
- Oils or liquids of any kind
- Dirt or Sand
- Food waste
- Completely full dumpsters containing concrete, asphalt, bricks, or dirt (These materials are extremely heavy and may exceed safe hauling limits)
- Large equipment tires or large excavator tracks
- Hazardous waste of any kind (Including but not limited to chemicals, solvents, pesticides, and medical waste)
Additional Disposal Fees
Certain items may incur extra charges due to special handling or landfill regulations. These fees are as follows:
- Tires (off rim, up to 18”): $30 each
- Tires (on rim, up to 18”): $35 each
- Tires (off rim, 18”+): $45 each
- Tires (on rim, 18”+): $60 each
- Freon-containing items: (A/C units, refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers): $60 each
- Propane tanks: $45 each
- Tractor-trailer tires: $70 each
- Small excavator tracks: $85 each
- TVs and computer monitors: $40 each
- Mattresses and box springs: $50 each (Fee may be avoided by disassembling before disposal)
- Batteries: $35 each
- Paint cans: -1 Gallon: $20 each -5 Gallon: $40 each
